The Wolf Whisperer : Chapter 2 : The Man

When the leader of the pack returns to the middle of the forest, he decides to call a meeting.  He howls the summons near Moon rock. Soon the forest is a chorus of howling. Suddenly, the howling stops and only the sounds of twigs snapping and the crunching of the leaves can be heard as the pack approaches.
Close to where the pack has gathered, a branch falls and there is a howl of pain.
The wolves run to the sound and the leader is shocked by what they have found.
Under the branch is the leader's son; still, silent and as pale as a ghost.
The leader can smell man. He cautiously noses the air and catches a glimpse of someone's eyes. There is a rustle of  leaves and then silence for a  few seconds. A dark figure jumps from the trees, moving away from the pack in a spray of earth and leaves. None of the wolves go to chase the man, frozen by grief. The leader sheds tears of loss for his only son, his heir, the last member of his family .
He howls a curse to the man, ripping the silence of the night apart with his raw fury .
The leader muzzles his lifeless son and swears a silent oath that when he finds this man, he will tear him limb from limb.
